Event Details

The Battle of the Alamo ended on March 6, 1836, when the Mexican Army under President General Antonio López de Santa Anna launched an assault on the Alamo Mission.

All but two of the Texian defenders were killed, including Davy Crockett and Jim Bowie. The cruelty of Santa Anna during the battle inspired many Texians to join the army, leading to their victory at San Jacinto.
