Jack the Ripper - Murder of Martha Tabram

On the morning of August 7, 1888, the body of Martha Tabram was discovered on a landing at George Yard Buildings in Whitechapel. She had been stabbed 39 times.

While not always included in the canonical five, many historians consider her the first probable victim of the killer later known as Jack the Ripper due to the ferocity of the attack and location.
