Apollo 14 launched from Kennedy Space Center on January 31, 1971. It was the eighth manned mission in the Apollo program and the third to land on the Moon.
Mission: Crewed by Alan Shepard, Stuart Roosa, and Edgar Mitchell, the mission famously saw Shepard hit golf balls on the lunar surface. It restored confidence in the program after the near-disaster of Apollo 13.
