Yalta Conference

The World War II meeting of the heads of government of the United States, the United Kingdom, and the Soviet Union to discuss the postwar reorganization of Germany and Europe.

From February 4–11, 1945, the "Big Three"—Franklin D. Roosevelt, Winston Churchill, and Joseph Stalin—met at Yalta in the Crimea. They discussed the post-war reorganization of Germany and Europe.

The conference effectively divided Europe into Western and Soviet spheres of influence, setting the stage for the Cold War.
